My second question is: How do you develop your ear training?  I want one day that I can replay the melodies of a pop song after hearing it; I heard that signing using solfege did help a lot, what do you think?

My third question is more casual: Who do you think is the best/most influential classical guitarist of our time? Can you name some?

    Hi Mircea

I have a couple of questions.

What exercises would you recommend to improve my fretting accuracy—too often I have buzzing and muted strings because a finger is touching an adjacent string?

I have trouble successfully fretting some barre chords, as in  Villa-Lobos’ Etude #1 measure 12, d-string.  I need to fiddle  with the barring finger to make that note sound.  Also, I find that I need to vary the pressure as I play across the strings in order to get all the barred strings to play reliably—probably not a good idea if you need to play fast.  Do you have any exercises to address these problems?

    Hi Mircea,

I’m struggling with fast descending slurs (“pull offs”) that requires change in left hand position - specifically in last 2 beats of measure 32 of the Allegro in the Grand Solo of Fernando Sor. What would be a good way to practice sections like these?

    Thank you!
