This will be an interactive livestream. Here's some info for this exciting new tonebase LIVE format:

WHAT DO I NEED?

  1. We are going to use ZOOM for the interactive part of Livestream (the same piece of software that we have been using for the Virtual Hangouts). While it is not necessary to download the software, I would recommend it as it runs more stable as the browser version. In order to have the best audio quality, you can activate the option to Preserve Original Soundhere you find the documentation on how to activate that.
  2. It's best to prepare for that lesson to get the most out of it in the interactive part! So listen to some of our fantastic release on

HOW DOES THIS TAKE PLACE?

  1. Simply watch the livestream at the time indicated in the live calendar!
  2. At the end of the introductory livestream, I will share a Zoom link in the chat. Click on that link, it will take you to our Zoom room.
  3. On our Zoom call, we will go in-depth about each piece, discussing certain fingering possibilities TOGETHER and YOU can get a full masterclass experience if you decide to take part with audio and video (not necessarily needed, more on that below)!

This interactive masterclass will NOT be recorded!

    • Emmanuel I'm working on Alma Verde by Pujol. I'm about a third of the way through. My issues are the harmonics, which I know how to play, but making them ring like they should seems to mean using my thumb, but the performers online use their fingers. Fingering, in general and tone of some notes sound strident instead of rich. I'm looking forward this. Should I send the score?

    • Olli I agree. Not a virtuoso piece, but hauntingly beautiful and within reach of most dedicated enthusiasts (amateurs of the old definition). I like this version best. I'm a bit confused by the fashion statement made with dress shirt won backwards, but you know how artists are. Play on!

    • Olli I cannot find a You Tube that fits the score. There are lots of Fantasia X, but X doesn't match the notes, at least as I see them. Is your version Fantasia III or IV or XI ?

    • Olli I with draw my last question. I wasn't hearing chord at the end of measure. Sorry for being a numbskull.

    • Olli Olli Yes. I'm embarrassed over jumping the proverbial gun regarding the score in my first message. I'm putting Fantasia X on my "to do" list in the future. I'll need to work my way up to it. Thanks for getting back to me.

    • Emmanuel  Here's my score. I'm still battling page one and and the harmonics on page 2. That's as far as I've been able to go to date. Thank you very much.

Is the class really at 12 p.m. EST? The normal start time in the past has been 2 p.m. EST. Just wondering. Thanks!

Hi Emmanuel, I would like to participate in the masterclass. If a spot is available I would probably present either Rodrigo's En los Trigales, or de Falla's Homenaje a Debussy. I will post the score(s) shortly.

Jack Stewart Here are the scores for both pieces. I am learning towards presenting the de Falla work. If you have one you are more comfortable with let me know.

    • Jack Stewart Hi! Absolutely – I've put you down third on the list. Homenaje sounds great! I'll look forward to seeing you later today:)
