Song and Sorrow: Tárrega's Lágrima

As one of the most emblematic pieces in the entire classical guitar repertoire, Francisco Tárrega’s Lágrima is easy enough to be tackled by dedicated beginners but hard enough to keep advanced players busy while trying to bring out its full range of expression. Join Emmanuel Sowicz for this livestream as he unpacks the crucial elements required to make Lágrima shine in full light: legato and cantabile playing, contrast, balance, articulation, and colour.

Hi Emmanuel. Sorry I can't make this one. Our local guitar club meets on the first Wednesday of every month and I have to go to that. Will definitely catch up on this live stream later!

  • As usual, I cannot attend live, but I’ll be watching this one later for sure! It doesn’t look like it’s interactive, is that correct?

    • Emmanuel Thank you so much.  You make playing a guitar look so simple. I would have to say you presentation style is superb and long with your technical style.  Many thanks again.
