Gian Marco Ciampa: Applied Phrasing through Musical Direction

My good friend Gian Marco Ciampa will be joining us live to speak about direction in music, how to understand it and how to apply it to create convincing, efficient and stylistically accurate phrasing.

To illustrate this, he will be using no less than three examples from standard guitar repertoire:

• Prelude No. 4 Op. 16 by Alexander Scriabin (from Tansman's Variations on a Theme by Scriabin)
• Prelude no. 1 by Heitor Villa-Lobos
• Torija by Federico Moreno-Torroba.
