Music Notation Software Basics (MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, and more) (Mar 14th) Questions / Suggestions
Alright, the time has FINALLY come to talk about a much requested topic - and such a current one, too! (Scroll down to see why.)
Music notation software: Which is the best? What can you do with it? Is it essential or should we stick to good old pen and paper? In this livestream, I will be giving a brief overview of all standard music notation software available today.
We will focus particulary on the free software MuseScore, available for Mac and Windows PC (download here), as well as the more advanced Sibelius and Finale, two of the standard applications employed in professional music engraving.
More importantly, this livestream will feature a cameo from guitarist-composer Ashley Lucero, who will be walking us through the basic functionality of Finale. Why is this important?
Because a little birdie told me that this month, the next tonebase challenge will have to do with coming up with our own music! Ready to demystify music composition?
Get ready for the tonebase composition challenge!!! Beginning March 22nd.
