Hey everyone!

A few of you have requested I do a live stream discussing sonata form to help you understand how to identify it and understand what makes a sonata form a sonata form

Sonata form has a long history in the music world, but the guitar and its repertoire are relatively young in comparison. In this workshop we will explore the most common characteristics of Sonata-Allegro form through musical examples drawn from guitar repertoire. You will learn how to identify the larger sections that make up this form along with smaller structural units, and the harmonic and motivic elements commonly used, and abused, by composers.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge with ya'll and seeing what kind of questions you have. Feel free to post questions here in the thread beforehand; otherwise remember to use the red ASK button during the stream so that your questions can be answered in the Q&A section at the end of the stream. I will also do small Q&A's at the end of each section within the stream if necessary! See you Sunday, July 25th at 11:00AM PST.

PEACE & A-M-I SCALES!! 😆

I really regret not being able to participate in all Live Streams as I would like. A lot is happening in my life lately and unfortunately I neglect my participation in Live Setreams. I can assure you that I listen to all of them from the recording and I have a lot of questions, comments, etc. But ... sorry - live is brutal and (as we usually say in Poland, "full of zasadzkas" means "full of traps"). I miss you all the time and hope to come back here soon ..

If I had such a teacher of musical forms, like Ashley, I'm sure I'd be a super student. Unfortunately, most of the time I was bored to death during these classes....

Ashley (Ash) Lucero - Hi Ashley, thank you for another superb lesson explaining the theory, and deviations from the normal. This really helps me understand the songs so much better. Many thanks. Dennis

Hey everyone! My apologies for posting the notes so late. Thanks to Deb Covell for reminding me! Don't forget the last two pieces are left blank for your own study. Happy analyses!
