The chat should work again, but I'll paste the link to the Zoom Call in here to be safe!

If you click on that link, it should bring you right into the Dress Rehearsal!

Hi Martin. If possible I would like to play an Allemande (My Lady Hunssdon's Puffe) by John Dowland. Happy to drop out to give someone else a chance if necessary. Thanks Derek

Martin Thanks Martin. If you remember I had sound issues at the last masterclass so I may have to do something slightly different. The problem is that for the masterclass and all of the livestreams I log in using my Samsung tablet but for recording I use my phone using a trrs adapter into the headphone/mic jack socket. This works fine (when I get the gain right) so in the masterclass and previous concerts I've used the same set up with the tablet. However, you said the sound wasn't good and I've discovered why. The socket on the tablet is headphone only (trs) and not headphone/mic (trrs) so it was using the internal mic and not my external mic. For the dress rehearsal and concert I am going to use my phone to log into the zoom call, using the external condenser mic, but so I can see it in a bigger picture I will also log in with my tablet, either to the zoom call or to the livestream - with the sound muted on the tablet! (Hope my broadband is up to it). Does that sound sensible? Thanks Derek

  • I would like to perform Seal Lullaby (Eric Whitacre, comp.; Gerard Cousins, arr.).

My only hindrance at this point is broken ribs on my left side. I will try.

Also, my sound may not come across well on my system. We will see. Thank you.

Todd Berry Wonderful, super excited about a guitar transcription by Eric Whitacre! I'm sure we'll be fine, I will do a quick run down on how to optimize Zoom settings for audio (it's also explained here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115003279466-Enabling-option-to-preserve-original-sound). With these settings, even a regular laptop or smartphone mic is enough!

    • Martin I MISSED THE DRESS REHEARSAL!! For some reason, I thought it was the 18th. Now I'm sad. I won't know how this is supposed to work.

  • It has been 5 days and there are still a lot of slots left. In that case, I would like to perform. Will get back to you in a couple days about my choice. I can only participate at the Dress Rehearsal but not the Community Concert as I have a workshop on May 21 at the same time. Please let me know if it is Ok. Thanks.

Bill Young Hi Bill, that's absolutely fine! And yes, there are still plenty of spots to fill, so for everybody undecided yet, I recommend signing up now!

    • Martin I will perform Marieta-Mazurka by Francisco Tarrega.

Also, there is an omission in Khiem's piece.  Khiem will perform Carcassi Op. 60, No. 7 as there are 25 studies in Op. 60.

I would like (?) to perform in the dress rehearsal and subsequent concert. I am intending to perform Chopin's op. 24.1 Mazurka (Stephen Aron transcription).

This gets easier the more I do it, right?

Jack Stewart YES! I was suffering a lot from stage anxiety, but after performing countless concerts in hospitals, schools, jails etc. I got the hang of it! These Community Concerts should do the trick!
