Hello everybody, here's a little guidance through Carcassi op.60!

Grouped by Difficulty

Easy: 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 13, 16, 19

Medium: 1, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 21, 23

Advanced: 17, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25

Grouped by Technique

Scales: 1, 6, 14, 18

Arpeggio: 2, 3, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 19, 20 + 22(inkl. Left Hand Slurs)

Slurs: 4, 8, 9, 10, 21, 23, 25 (full fretboard arpeggi)

Other: 5 + 17 (Parallel Motion and Shifts), 16 (Melody and Accompaignement), 24 (Shifts)

Grouped by Length

Short: 3, 4, 10

Medium: 1, 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 23

Long: 2, 6, 7, 9, 15, 17, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25

      Elizabeth No. 2 would be a great starting point for you, especially since we have a brand new release with TY on that!

      I would put No.3 more in between easy and medium since it does require a good knowledge of the upper fretboard!

      No.4, 6 and 10 should be perfectly doable! So glad to have you on board for this challenge, let me know if I or fellow tonebase users can help you with something, this challenge is about motivating and inspiring each other!

  • Thanks, Martin, this is very helpful. Number 9 (which I love) seems to be missing from the difficulty chart. Where would you put it? I'd say either easy or medium.

      Eric Phillips  Your eye for detail! 👓 I‘ll update the Etude Guide with No.9, but I‘d put it probably in medium  as well for the slurs and the shifts, those need special attention and careful fingering!
