Together with the German guitarist and musicologist Jakob Wagner we will explore the relationship between music and linguistic rhetoric in the German aesthetics of the 17th century. Using selected examples by Bach, Froberger and Weiß, we will examine in which way different rhetorical figures could develop their semantic potential and convey exact meanings to the audience
