Technique work that shines in your pieces with Phil Goldenberg

What you will learn:

  • Turn your pieces into technical exercises
  • Stop wasting time through mindless repetitions

We've all had the experience of working on some exercise or etude endlessly, and then finding that it somehow didn't apply itself to the piece we were hoping for. In this livestream I'll show you how to turn your pieces into technical exercises using a few tried and true formulas that are guaranteed to help with your toughest problem spots.

Forum Assignment

Find a tough technical spot in one of your pieces. Using one of the techniques we talked about in the livestream, make an exercise out of it. Post a video of the spot in the challenge thread, and of the exercise that helped you.

  • I tried a hundred times to watch this video, but it won’t work. I don’t have this problem with lessons and other streamed live sessions. Maybe it’s my poor network out here.  I will keep trying when I’m back home. I think it will be very interesting to watch and get this information.

joosje same for me, a few months later… but I can not watch it…

    • Emma is the problem that the video keeps stopping? If so, I had this problem with some of the archived livestreams. I solved it by clearing my browser cache and cookies and restarting my iPad and then the video worked.

Sorry, but please read the instructions to the Iznaola exercises. 1-5 are meant to stretch the muscles by fully extending the finger after striking.
