    • What have you learned over the course of the last four weeks? Bach is wonderful on the guitar, but it sure takes a lot of work.
    • What is your next project? I always have a million ideas of what I'd like to work on, but then the next challenge starts, and I can't resist!
    • Any guesses for the next Community Challenge? Music of South America.

    • What have you learned over the course of the last four weeks?

That I don't have nearly enough Bach in my repertoire.  I need another lifetime just devoted to Bach.

    • What is your next project?

Next project?!!! I still haven't finished all the projects from the previous Challenges!

    • Any guesses for the next Community Challenge?

Maybe Guitar Transcriptions of video game theme songs - so I won't be tempted to participate and can try to finish all of my previous projects (see above).

OK. Fine. How about Modern; French; Renaissance?

Jack Stewart Haha, transcriptions of video game theme songs sounds like a dope challenge! I wanted to do a livestream around that topic during the Olympic Games in Japan (in fact we tried to plan a themed 2 weeks of Japanese Artists and focus on compositions that are inspired by that country), but then it got rescheduled and everything, so we're saving that one for later!

What have I learnt in the last 4 weeks: I've realised that all of the pieces by Bach that I intended to learn many years ago are still unlearned! I need to schedule time to work on them before it is too late!

Next Project: still working on a concert programme - De Visee suite in D minor, pieces by Sor, Llobet(?), Stachak, Villa Lobos, Tarrega, Barrios and Sanz. Hopefully to complete by May! Plus hoping to learn some easyish Lauro and South American pieces.

Ideas for next challenge:  Barrios or possibly Villa Lobos

Unfortunately I can't make the watch party - friend's birthday so have to go out. I'll watch when I get back

I have learned that Bach pieces take a long long  time to be ready and are difficult to memorise. However I enjoy and love playing them as do people, audiences, family and friends,  even if played “badly”. They take you to another world, and are beautiful. As Jack says I need more pieces in my repertoire …

so, is it so? Latin American pieces? Beautiful! Now after polishing the Gavottes  I am finishing Torija…. I have a delay …

First of all, man, I can't believe I missed this! I'm SO bummed! Will I be able to catch a replay?

    What have I learned?

    • Uh, pay closer attention to the schedule so I don't miss the watch party!
    • I developed a much greater appreciation for Bach's music.
    • I discovered a few new pieces that seem very interesting to learn.
    • Slow down. There's no rush.

    Next project

    • Next immediate project is the community concert
    • I may dabble in the South America challenge.
    • Continue developing my Bach repertoire and the music of Spain

Next challenge - obviously the music of South America!
