Here's a take on the complete set of the "other" variations Narvaez wrote for Guardame Las Vacas.
I've been super busy recently, so getting away to this little project has been really a pleasure. I finished transcribing the third one which is a little unusual. The only thing I changed on this one was the key so the different voices colliding and intermingling for a measure is all Narvaez. It's a really interesting effect that will take some more time to pull off cleanly so both voices are clear. I'm really glad I chose to keep them as a stand-alone set since they have such a different "minor" character than the more familiar"major" set.

Barney That's awesome, Barney. I always liked De Falla going back to when I first heard the John Williams "Spanish Music" tracks. So much of it fits so well on the guitar.

Barney Awesome, Barney! I actually first heard this music on Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain album. I had no idea it had been arranged for solo guitar. This music is a perfect match for your playing. I really enjoyed listening to it!

well... that could be applied to any exercises... it's up to any of us to ensure we don't go too far and injure ourselves. I don't think this statement should prevent you from exploring, that'd be sad you miss any opportunity in the SoG that could help you more than hurts. Come to the group and ask, we can explore, learn and play together there!

Here is my final contribution to this month's challenge, Abel Carlevaro's beautiful prelude, "Ronda." Ronda is the fourth prelude in Carlevaro's Preludios Americanos series. The complete set of five preludes was premiered in 1963 in Montevideo, Uruguay and published in the 1970s by Barry Publications. This prelude starts off with a simple little round and then takes you unexpected places.
