🚨 Rescheduled to August 13th 🚨

Hey all again! Woo hoo! More analysis and theory coming up just as requested: modulation style! Last live stream we had a few of you showing a lot of interest in how and where modulations were occurring in the pieces we were analyzing. So I thought, why not continue this music theory through guitar repertoire adventure. Hope you'll join me!

Ever wonder how a composer got to a completely different key within a piece you’re learning? Or maybe, you’re in the process of composing a new piece and are starting to feel the limits of remaining in a single key. Maybe you know what modulation is already but don’t know how to identify it within music or apply into your own writing. Gaining an understanding of modulations in music can help get you past these obstacles in your musical journey. And the most exciting part? There’s more than one way to modulate within a piece! Join me as I explores different types of modulation in music using examples from guitar repertoire. Not only will you learn how to identify where a modulation has occurred, but also what type of modulation was used and how to apply this knowledge towards performance and composition.

Looking forward to another nerd-out session with ya'll!

🤓 Ashley

Hi Ashley, recently I attended the live stream of Martin, he mentioned the dorian scale. Is it possible for you to explain me a little bit more about dorian and other scale types, thanks, best regards, Frank Lieverse
