Alright, ladies and gentlemen - the time has come! 😀

We are going to be using this thread to gather suggestions and questions!

  • What questions do you have on this topic?
  • Any particular area you would like me to focus on?

Forum questions will be answered first!

"We will be looking at where the theme originates, how Sor develops it, and along the way, gaining essential insight into how to make its performance easy and straightforward. With a bit of left-hand and right-hand preparation, intelligent fingering, and informed phrasing, the effort necessary to play this piece will be drastically reduced - immediately reflecting in the music."

    Hi, Mircea.

1- I tend to take "Menor" marks in variations as a clue for lowering the tempo, changing the caracter a little bit to something more solemn. Do you agree?

2- Would you go to the length of playing AIM/PIM  in the coda escales in order to mark the triplets? Being in the lower strings, scratchy sounds are likely to appear if we use the A finger.

3-Idea for a pool: Is Sor your favorite guitarist-composer?

    As always, thanks a lot.

  • Might be an odd question since it’s not about technique, but this is a favourite piece of mine and I have been playing it for 32 years.  Wondering how to choose the best ‘arrangement’ of the piece since there are so many arrangements available?   Not expecting you to have an answer to this but curious how you chose the version you play?
