The Poetry of the Guitar with Adam Levin: Vibrato and Timbre

Hey everyone! I am so looking forward to hosting this upcoming livestream with soon-to-be tonebase artist Adam Levin. Adam will be joining us live at tonebase HQ here in California, where he will be flying in for a series of really cool productions with us! Really excited about both the productions and the livestream.

In this live session with Adam Levin, we will discuss the importance of vibrato, the types of vibratos, where to use vibrato in music, and how this lends itself to more expressive playing. Adam will also discuss the importance of timbre (or tone colors), which creates more dynamic and colorful playing. He will define tone colors, and discuss when and how to use them.

We are going to be using this thread to gather suggestions and questions!

  • Martin Would it be possible to do some of these sessions and community concerts at a time better in South and South East Asia.  Dec 4th poetry of guitar and Dec 5th community concert starts at 12.30 am.  If it's difficult, maybe two separate sessions for these difficult timezones between Asia and Americas.

Srinath Subrahmanyan In the future we will try to accommodate livestreams for different time zones, at the moment they are somewhat optimized for the US and the EU! You can always watch these streams after they were live since we do record and keep them, but I do understand that being there live is a unique experience and we certainly want to find possibilites to include as many of you as possible!

  • Thanks  Martin .  Are the community concerts also recorded for later consumption.  Of course if I am playing, it may need some adjustment on my part, till we have an alternate community concert (maybe parts of Europe and APAC  at a better time for them)
