Here is that rainy day.. oops. .not latin..

Un amor de valsa by Paolo Bellinati

A video of this piece performed by Nora Buschmann showed up , randomly?, on YT. I liked it. There is also a nice performance by TB Brazilian Rhythms instructor Douglas Lora but he plays 7 string.

Heavy rain  and waves from the sea accompanies and reinforces the Brazilian melancholic mood

  • Here is another early composition by Abel Carlevaro from the 1960s that he wrote for his students, Aires de Milonga based on the traditional milonga rhythm of the Rio de la Plata.

Dale Needles What an impressive catalogue of good music you and Carlevaro have.

Also this piece is unknown to me. Very well performed with good tone and the Milonga rhythm clearly emphasized in the bass.

    • Jack Stewart Eric Phillips Lars Kjøller-Hansen Andre Bernier Thanks everyone. It is a fun piece to play and a great way to learn the milonga rhythm.  It is interesting to play these little gems that Carlevaro wrote in a folkloric style, quite the contrast with his major works.

  • Anido – Preludio Pampeano (July 14)

I continue to work on this beautiful prelude by Maria Luisa Anido. There has been some improvement, but so much more work needs to be done. Many of the large chords seem almost unplayable to me. There are also several chords that are a mix of high-fretted notes and open strings, and I find it hard to make sure the open strings don’t stand out too much.
