Week 4 - D Major and the Ending

Final week. Suggested focus: Sections 7 and 8 (bars 45–73), the D major theme, the pianissimo return, and piecing together the ending. Then the whole piece, bar 1 to bar 73.

We close out with a Watch Party on Friday October 2, 5pm CEST, so post your performance video here to be featured: a single section or the whole piece, rough edges welcome. 🎥

One last question: if you could add one step to the Track, what would it be?

I  had time to do only one take on this, so here it is.   It was nice to re-visit an old favorite.

Wow!! Barney, that was masterful!. You phrasing is excellent, as is your tone. And that was from 1 take only! (I don't think a could record a C major chord in 1 take.)

You have provided me some inspiration/ examples for several of the sections I am having trouble with. I think my biggest challenge is getting into the descending slurs (mm. 51 -52). which you handled beautifully.

Thanks for a beautiful performance. OK Back to work.

       Thanks Jack!

In Measure 51, I would suggest practicing each 6 note grouping separately until secure.  Then, string them together.

Thanks Juan!  I'm using a pair of Line Audio CM4 microphones with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for audio; and iphone for video.

A little late to the party. But I wanted to re work this peice. It was the first "real" peice I learned while a student at 18 years old. I am performing the entire piece (not in sections) on a Paco Marin guitar from 1990! I got a little lost in the sound :)
