Week 4 - D Major and the Ending
Final week. Suggested focus: Sections 7 and 8 (bars 45–73), the D major theme, the pianissimo return, and piecing together the ending. Then the whole piece, bar 1 to bar 73.
We close out with a Watch Party on Friday October 2, 5pm CEST, so post your performance video here to be featured: a single section or the whole piece, rough edges welcome. 🎥
One last question: if you could add one step to the Track, what would it be?

Uh Oh Week 4! Tarrega Capricho Arabe mm 33 - 61 rough draft (and I mean Rough)
This is the middle section complete and, boy has it been rough. I am just now beginning to be able to play it (with a lot of license!). The chromatic scale is beginning to take shape, as is the descending repeated note line, though those are really difficult to get into. The short connecting phrase (the 2nd one completely fell apart) is a new fingering for me and quite precarious. All in all ..... boy do I have a lot of work!!! I am hoping that by posting this I will be compelled (shamed) into really focusing during the last week.🥵
Just noticed my liberties with the name of the piece on the video.🤷♂️

Hello Jack, good job ...the piece is more dificult than what you would expect from the score....the good thing is that, since this is a serenata from the Romantic time, licenses are common and we don´t have to stick to much the beat compared with other stiles......

I´m pasting here my take of the complete second part......I looked to Martin´s fingering but i played the original ones that I already had in my fingers......I hope to record the complete piece at once ....will be dificult, lets see

Here is the whole thing. There are several flubs, but I wanted to do a first take from beginning to end.

I hope nobody minds, but I am posting another piece. I have been working on this and Capricho Arabe during this challenge. Since I already play Capricho Arabe, I thought it would be fun to work on a piece by Tarrega that I haven't played before. This seemed like a good choice because it's also in drop-D tuning, but has a very different character, and is not heard nearly as often as Capricho Arabe.
