  • These two etudes really stood out to me on a recording I heard by Tariq Harb. I've been spending quite a bit of time reading through them slowly to get to know them and figure out the fingering. I think they fit under the fingers pretty well but some of the jumps and especially the slides over a fourth or fifth are going to be tough at tempo.

    • joosje Thanks a lot. I actually didn't realize how difficult these were until I started working with them more. I don't usually spend a lot of time working on right-hand fingerings, but these are making me focus on that more. They're very pretty pieces so I'm enjoying spending the time and effort.

I am new to Tonebase.  This will be my first participation with others on the site.  I'll work on #7.  I'm not sure how to record and upload the piece - I'll work on this with the goal of having it recorded by the end of the weekend.

So far, I'm loving Tonebase.  There are so many options for activity.  Thank you for this.

    • Alan Hoff Welcome to the challenge Alan, I'm happy to read you're working on #7, a famous one!! You can record simple using your phone, or use a ton of gear, and then upload on YT (create your channel if you don't already have one) and make it «unlisted» to share here but not worldwide! Feel free to ask any questions in the forums, the community is pretty responsive!

JUAN ALONSO Nicely played, Juan! And that's a very pleasant looking practice space you have set up for yourself, too. (I love the 'natural' light!)

Hi all. I've been missing from these challenges for some months now. I've actually taken part in most of the one's that I missed but just didn't get round to making a video of myself! Hopefully that's going to change for this one. I've started work on No 17 which I've never played before so should be interesting. I've just tried to video myself but messed it up so hopefully in the next few days I'll have something ready to post.
