I'm working on Recuerdos by Eduardo Diaz. He's from Mexico. It's a sweet piece I discovered on youtube.

       I don't know his relatives, he's a musician friend!

Yes, I read that and it has that feel of loss and nostalgia.

I will check that out. She is one of my favorites as well. And she has some great sheet music available on her website.

A great choice for this Challenge, a beautiful Valse written for guitar!

Nice choice. One of my first classical guitar albums had Segovia playing this, so it was my introduction to him.

I probably still have Segovia playing Ponce on old Vinyl records.  He had a close relationship with Ponce.

Here's my Candombatan so far. I love the groove of this song and it's got such a catchy melody.  I always think Pujol's work is closer to pop than classical.

Another great start for this Challenge, and a work I was not aware of... is it a standalone piece or this is part of a collection or suite from Pujol?

Nicely done. I agree this piece seems to pay tribute to popular music while simultaneously weaving those wonderful classical passages. Also, nice to hear something outside the traditional repertoire.

This is from his "4 Piezas Cristalinas."  All four of them are pretty great.

Looking to put down some Piazzolla - ideally the Assad arrangement of Invierno Porteno.

A perfect fit for this Challenge, or for a season fit Otono Porteno! 😅

Well I am in the southern hemisphere (South Africa), so to fit I would need to play primavera porteno - I've been working on that too, but it's not the easiest

Ah, that is a nice challenge. I recently started Julia Florida and the Cardoso Milonga. And if Eduardo Diaz is allowed I could throw a little Recuerdos or Ti Amo in.
