  • Further to last weeks assignment over the past couple of days I have set my guitar to one side,  picked up  a really really simple music pieces (grade 1), and just read through a the piece, reading the notes out loud. I do this with a metronome set slow.  Only 5 or 6 minutes.  It makes me think and concentrate. I think the ticks of the metronome help too.  Of course there are mistakes but as soon as I do it I recognise it.  Occasionally double checking things.  I don't know if anyone else does this but it's helping me. Looking forward to tonights class I will be able to make it!!

      Paul Great job, Paul!

      Couple of details:

      • Exercise 1f, measure 1: The first one of these was not an F, but an E. The higher note was correct though.
      • Exercise 1f, measure 2: The low D requires its own sharp.
      • Exercise 1g, measure 1: The 4th string is wrong.
      • Exercise 1g, measure 2: The 4th string is wrong, and the third string requires a flat (the note is not a B, but a B flat - or A sharp)

Really good job all around though, hope to see you in future livestreams!

    Hello everyone,

I'm several months late. I'm enthusiastic about this course as my low music reading skills have been an impairment for some time.

I don't know if the assignments can be reviewed at this point. I've gone ahead and checked the answers of my peers after completing the exercises myself.

Also, here's my video playing exercise 1e.

    Cheers!
