  • Some guy named Francisco keeps popping up all over my house with these short little preludes. Any idea how I can get rid of him?

    • Eric Phillips why get rid of Tarrega preludes? There are some more to go. And they are all such wonderful miniatures , so please continue Eric!

Eric Phillips Haha, that's SO cool and amazing that you took the time to record so many of this wonderful miniatures! Though they are very sure, they still need to be practiced, so GREAT JOB! 💪

    • One thing you found easy: nothing
    • One thing you found difficult: it needs much practice time to bring up to speed - there are some parts feel to me as a brake .... ( bar 4 and 8 and all repetitions of them 🤪 )

    • One thing you found easy: 😂 🤣 😭
    • One thing you found difficult: I practice tremolo for years and it is very hard to let it flow. After last virtual-Masterclass with Mircea I spend much much much time on practicing tremolo. The main thing I changed was the articulation : I always played P a m I  for years and now changed ( for most of the piece 😉 ) to p A m I ..... that was, I hope, the key to a better tremolo... If I let my fingers become too fast, I always fall back to P a m I . Because of that I need more time to reset the old articulation and let the "new" become my intuition version. For my feeling I need another 6 month time to speed up another 20bpm .... that would be my goal - a real killer tremolo 👹

(If you put the Playback speed to 1.25 .....that would be my dream-tempo) 🥰

    • Olli To be honest, I like it better at the tempo you played. Putting it at 1.25 sounded too fast to me. I wish I could pull off tremolo like you!

Eric Phillips Dear Eric, maybe 1.25 is sometimes way too fast - but I think when the beat is over or at least 150 BPM - that becomes a nice flow .....

Olli Nice work on this difficult piece!!  It is so hard to play this well with even, legato, balanced flowing notes, dynamics and good tone ( and not hitting adjacent strings, ha ha).  Everything in both hands  have to work and coordinate perfectly to achieve it, and that's why it's so challenging.  You're doing a great job, so keep it up, and thanks for sharing it with us!

Olli great tremolo Olli. I have actually gone through the same process with tremolo articulation as you and you’re right that pAmi makes it smoother. I warm up with pima too.  I practice it a bit every day although I’ve never tried Recuerdos. Not sure my left hand could pull it off as it’s a bit compromised.
