What is Fretboard Harmony?
It is the understanding, and the practice of realizing, theoretical harmonic constructs on the guitar.
In music theory we encounter scales, intervals, triads, chords, progressions of chords. Rather than understanding these in a simply purely theoretical way, we can actually see them, form them and manipulate them on the fretboard of the guitar.
Fretboard harmony progresses from seeing, forming and manipulating these basic theoretical elements to the culminating activities of harmonizing melodies, realizing figured basses, analyzing repertoire and composing and arranging music for the guitar.
