Hey tonebuddies! 👋

As we wrap up 2025, we want to celebrate you — the amazing musicians who make our Guitar, Piano, Violin, and Cello communities so inspiring. Join us for our End-of-Year Community Concert, a special evening where we’ll showcase performances from across all tonebase platforms! 🌍✨

🎵 What it is

A relaxed, joyful online concert featuring selected performances from our community members. Whether you’ve mastered a piece this year, polished an old favorite, or discovered a new musical voice — this is your chance to share it with the tonebase family!

🎬 How it works

We’ll select 8-10 participants across all platforms to perform in a live, online concert.
Each participant will prepare one piece of up to 5 minutes.

🗓️ Dates

  • Concert date: Sunday, December 29, 9am PST

I'll throw my hat in the ring. This (theoretically) gives me enough time to refine something for performance. I am glad to see the Community Concerts return, especially for cross platforms.

I applied to join as well. I so much enjoyed participating last year, so I’m ready again, but I’m also okay to give the floor to others this time.

Great to see this return. Will be traveling at year end so can't apply to participate but hope to catch the concert.

When will be decided who’s going to play? Those who will play must have time to get ready, and there’s Christmas coming…. As for me I have my family with 5 (!) grand children to prepare, so I’m pretty busy for the next whole week…. But playing or not, I’m so much looking forward to the community concert.

Can we pre-record our performance if we cannot make the livestream date?

Thanks Martin! Looks like a great lineup and program. Looking forward to watching.

(I am actually relieved I didn't make the cut, I developed a pretty severe cold yesterday and am really foggy headed - well, more than usual).

hope you’re not too much affected by the cold. Wish you a very happy and most of all healthy 2026. See you in the next challenge..

Thanks Joosje. I probably overstated my cold affliction. I am really stopped up and sniffling but not much beyond that. I really enjoyed your performance. I used to play the Passacglia years ago, though not nearly as well as you did. I am currently working on Weiss' Chaconne. I have it mostly under my fingers but as separate sections. I am not able to put them together yet.

BTW, have you heard Alan Mearn's Weiss Passacaglia? His ornamentations are amazing - perhaps over the top (though I really like it). You did a great job with your ornamentations.

thank you Jack. I’ll have a go for Alan Mearn. Never heard. I was now mostly inspired by Petra Polackova.

Her clear, majestic interpretation was my star to follow these winter days. Looking forward to your chaconne. All these pieces are so beautiful but voicing is harder on guitar than lute. I also love the d minor Sonata, especially the prelude. My next choice, and then the Tombeau pour Logy….
