Hi all, it was a lot of fun and educational to follow along with all the postings of the Brouwer's Estudios Sencillos.  Unfortunately, I was not able to join in the fun.  In any case, I want to share two more Microestudios by Abel Carlevaro, No. 10 & 11.  For those who are not familiar with Carlevaro's set of 20 Microestudios, they compare and contrast nicely with Brouwer's.

That would have been great to have you join the Study Group for Brouwer's studies, but in any case these Carlevaro's are very interesting! I definitely have to post a few of them soon, and also get back to the preludios, time's running out too fast! 😅

great to hear you play these studies.. you’re right they are a contrast and an addition to Brouwer’s. Like you I wasn’t able to join the Brouwer study group , but I enjoyed so much reading the informative comments and hearing the different approach and interpretations of this iconic study repertoire by the participants. Thank you for this post, Dale!

These sound great, Dale,  You always manage to make this difficult music sound so expressive and coherent. Great job  - especially after 3 months away from your (or any) guitar. I just got back on Wednesday. I resumed practice on Thursday and, after 2 weeks away, I question whether I had ever played guitar before. It does feel my 'rebound' is getting longer and more tenuous. I also resumed exercising tenth same effect. Getting old is just not what it's cracked up to be.

Thanks all. These Microestudios are wonderful little pieces that really showcase Carlevaro's musical palette. Following the example of  , I hope to complete the set of 20 by the end of the year. I also continue to work on three of Carlevaro's later Milongas and two pieces by Piazzolla, arranged by Agustin Carlevaro. Cheers!
